Job purpose

We are looking for an innovative Solution Architect to develop and implement systems architecture that will meet client and Arkphire business needs. The Solution Architect’s responsibilities include gathering requirements and functional specifications, assessing customers current Infrastructure/Hybrid Cloud/software systems in place in order to identify areas in need of improvement, and overseeing development teams. You should also be able to regularly update the company on any developments in systems architecture projects.

To be successful as a Solution Architect, you should be able to integrate any updated specifications and requirements into the systems architecture. An outstanding Solution Architect should be able to explain complex problems to management in layman’s terms

Responsibilities

  • Lead on the setting and enforcement of architecture standards and practices affecting development of all new products as well as impacting existing ones. Develop these standards in coordination with peers in other divisions
  • Manage and continuously improve the Solution Architecture process and artefacts to develop a set of re-usable reference architectures and ensure these are leveraged wherever possible.
  • Reviews business context for solutions to company and client challenges as well as defining the vision and requirements for the solution, recommending potential options, (which may include RFIs, RFPs or prototype development), selecting the most optimal option, and the development of a roadmap for the selected solution.
  • Architect and provide technical direction for our approach for cloud/SaaS and on-premise products
  • Assures solutions not only are a fit for the specific purpose but also closely align with the standards guidelines of technology solutions.
  • Building and integrating information systems to meet the company’s & clients needs.
  • Assessing the systems architecture currently in place and working with business users and technical staff to recommend solutions to improve it.
  • Providing supervision and guidance to more junior technical resources
  • Continually researching current and emerging technologies and proposing changes where needed.
  • Informing various stakeholders about any problems with the current technical solutions being implemented.
  • Providing updates to stakeholders on product development processes, costs, and budgets.
  • End to end project implementation - Project design and planning, efficient implementation, documentation, technical handover (internal & external)
  • Maintain clear channel of communication with internal and external stakeholders in relation to project status
  • Provide a point of escalation in relation to projects, service tickets, problem tickets, priority 1 incidents as required
  • Complete presales engagements as necessary
  • Out of hours work as necessary (projects and service requests)
  • Ensure 100% customer satisfaction in relation to project implementation
  • Adhere to and oversee customer and company change control policies

  • Ensure technical handover to internal departments and customer IT personnel

  • Attend all 1:1, team and project meetings with concise status updates
  • Ensure development goals are achieved as agreed

  • Maintain regular and effective communication with internal and external stakeholders
  • Maintain strong customer relationship through onsite visits, Face-to-face communication and reporting as required

Education and Experience

  • AWS solution architect
  • Azure architect
  • VMWare VCP
  • Extensive knowledge of Microsoft technologies (O365, SharePoint, Exchange, etc…..)
  • Extensive knowledge of Networking Principles
  • Extensive knowledge of Storage Area Networks (NetApp, Dell)
  • Extensive Knowledge of IT Security Principles and products (Checkpoint, Cisco, Fortinet, QRadar)
  • Minimum of 10 – 12 years of experience related to IT Management or other information technology solutions architecture role
  • Knowledge of Solution Architecture, with practical experience of applying TOGAF or other architecture framework methodologies to IT
