For Arkphire's Head of Managed Services, John Murphy, digital transformation is very much tied into IT services as businesses look for ways to become more efficient and cost-effective.

Since every business now has an IT side, more businesses are finding they don’t have the necessary internal resources to properly cope with this demand. With the number of mobile entry points, technologies, services and software increasing, relying on a managed IT service to stay on top is key.

For Arkphire’s head of managed services, John Murphy, digital transformation is very much tied into this area as businesses look for ways to become more efficient and cost-effective.

“Where Arkphire comes into this is that we have the ability and the competencies internally to translate the customer value into IT requirements,” he said.

“To ensure the operational support is kept optimally running, ensure that if there are requirements to augment their internal teams, be it on the client side, network or data centre side, they can take that as a service.”

While digital transformation is very much about the tools and processes adopted, Murphy mentions the technology has to complement the direction the business is taking. Technology for the sake of technology isn’t the way and Arkphire knows it.

“It’s not always a technology first answer, but technology underpins the business. If it starts at technology first, you’re opening up a potential world of pain for the back office operational function and for the end-user environment.

“The last thing the company wants to do is spend significant six or seven-figure sums on going down a digital transformation route, having hidden from the end-user and not getting their input. You don’t want the end-user responding that the technology is not working the way they want it to and then asking you to put it back to the way it was.”
